Myranda S. Marsh, Ed.D. Principal/Executive Director |
Dr. Marsh was a classroom teacher for 11 years before becoming a charter school administrator. She served as Dean of Secondary Studies for the celebrated Accelerated School in South Central Los Angeles and Principal of the Harvard campus of the Camino Nuevo Charter Middle School. She earned her doctorate in Leadership in Urban Education from USC in the summer of 2005, with a focus on the correlation between effective teaching and test scores in urban middle schools. Dr. Marsh is a published author in the field of education (ASCD Yearbook 1999 and Journal of Change in Education) and has been an Adjunct Instructor in the field of Educational Psychology at Loyola Marymount Graduate School of Education and in the teacher education program at USC. |
Jacqueline Loza, M.A. Operations Manager |
Ms. Loza has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from Cal State Los Angeles and a Master’s of International Relations/Diplomacy with specializations in Global Health/Bioterrorism and the Middle East from Seton Hall University. Most recently she has worked in many areas of the non-profit industry and also brings years of experience in facilities and operations in the corporate sector. |

Ms. Gameros received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University Northridge. Her favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and playing softball. Ms. Gameros is excited to be working at James Jordan Middle School this upcoming year. |
Maria Alvarado, M.A. Ed. Assistant Principal of Students |
Ms. Alvarado is proud to be the first in her family to attend college. As a graduate from CSUN with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal studies, she also has her Clear Credential, Math Supplement, and a Masters in Secondary Education. Previously, she has worked in various middle and high schools all over the Valley. "Ms. A," as she is affectionately called, is a founding teacher of JJMS. |

Mr. Palomino is working on his Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice. He enjoys baseball (Go Dodgers!), going to the gym, the beach, Starbucks, and most of all, working with the students and staff at James Jordan Middle School. |

Teryn Bryant, M.A. Ed. 8th Grade English/History Instructor |
Mrs. Bryant received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State San Bernardino. She later earned a Master's Degree in Theater from Cal State Los Angeles. She completed her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University along with a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Cross Cultural Teaching. Mrs. Bryant is excited about her teaching eight grade humanities at JJMS! She looks forward to exposing the students to the arts! She has been with JJMS since 2008. |

Jesica Cruz Resource Teacher

Ms. Cruz is starting her 4th year at JJMS. She received her bachelor's degree in Child and Adoloscent Development and a minor in Family Studies from California State University, Northridge. Currently, she is pursuing her Special Education Teaching Credential. |

Beth Ferrant School Psychologist |
Beth Ferrant has worked in the field of Special Education for over 20 years, specializing in both adolescence and early childhood. She has been employed in public and private schools, early intervention programs and treatment centers. Beth graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of CA, Santa Barbara and then earned two Master's Degrees, one from the University of CA, Irvine, and the other from CA State University, Dominguez Hills. She holds a CA Professional Clear Credential in School Psychology. She has been with JJMS since 2005. |
Shannen Kim 6th Grade Math Instructor |
Ms. Kim received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and also completed her Multiple Subject teaching credential at California State University, Los Angeles. Ms. Kim is looking forward to working with the upcoming 6th graders. She has been with JJMS since the Spring of 2008. |

Margaret Malone, M.A. Ed. Resource Teacher |
Ms. Malone received her bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Pennsylvania. During her junior year, she studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. After graduation, she spent a semester at the University of Granada in Spain where she studied History and Spanish. She completed her Multiple Subject teaching credential and Master’s degree in Education from Pepperdine University. She is currently completing her Special Education credential at California State University Northridge. Ms. Malone is excited about sharing her love of reading and travel with her students and will be starting a school library this year. She has been with JJMS since 2007. |
Megan Rubio 6th Grade English Instructor |
Mrs. Rubio received her Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development, with a specialty in education, from California State University, Northridge. She completed her Multiple Subject teaching credential at California State University, Los Angeles. She previously taught in Pasadena Unified and Glendale unified. Mrs. Rubio is looking forward to sharing her love of art and the great Masters during Advisory. She has been with JJMS since 2008. |
Candice Ryu, M.A. Ed. 7th Grade Math Instructor |
Ms. Ryu earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Dance from the University of Washington with distinction, cum laude. After finishing college, she joined Teach for America, which brought her to Los Angeles to teach in Carson, CA for two years. There she taught sixth grade Math, Science, English, and History. During this time, she also received her Multiple Subject teaching credential and a Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. Ms. Ryu looks forward to sharing her love of learning with her students. She has been with JJMS since 2008. |

Mrs. Lara received her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University Northridge. Lindsey Matheis P.E. Teacher |
Ms. Matheis has her Masters Degree in Physical Education from Canisius College. Ms. Matheis earned her initial certification in both Physical Education and Health from New York and is also certified in California obtaining her Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential. Ms. Matheis is eager to teach the JJMS students the importance of physical fitness and nutrition and introduce the direct correlation it has on their adult life. |
