Hello Everyone!
Today is the last day of Quarter 3 Please make sure you turn in all your missing/late assignments in TODAY MARCH 27, 2020 BEFORE 9PM.

Today's Assignment will be a bit different to every day. Instead of hearing me through video it will be your turn to tell me through video what you have learned. We will be using Flipgrid to do this.

In order to do this you will need to watch the video GETTING STARTED STUDENTS ON VIMEO. This will tell you how to add yourself to my class on Flipgrid. You will need to log in with google to be able to do this. Make sure it is your JJMS email.

You will create a video on the following:
Think about this learning target for this unit: “I can analyze the structure of Chávez’s speech and explain how each section contributes to his central claim.”

2.What questions do you still have?
3.What have you done to understand and learn this learning target?

Your video should not be shorter than 1 minute and 30 seconds. If it is shorter you will not get full points.

BE as creative as you want in your video. Please make sure it is school appropriate and remember I am your audience in this video. After you all turn in your videos I will post them on the weekend so you may enjoy the great videos you have created!

Today you will finish reading the speech the Commonwealth Club Address.
You are in charge of READING PARAGRAPHS 27-29 AND SENDING PICTURE OF THOSE PARAGRAPHS SO I MAY SEE YOUR NOTES.
As you read I want you to write a gist statements and main ideas as we have been doing. Highlight anything that is important.

After you will finish the Anchor Chart. If you are doing it on paper please continue to answer on the paper and send me a picture.
If not please fill in the Anchor Chart it is attached so you may use it.

Today's Assignment will focus on finishing the reading and notes for paragraphs 16-21.
I have uploaded a video (Unit 2 Lesson 6 Cesar Chavez p.16-21.mp4) you may access that goes over the paragraphs 20 and 21 (These are the paragraphs we did not get to read in class)

As I am talking in the video please pause the lesson so you may take the notes down. Throughout the video I give you instructions of what you will need to turn in for today. If you are having trouble viewing the video send me an email please so I may fix the error.

After the video you will TAKE A PICTURE OF PAGE 16 AND 17 OF YOUR NOTES and attach it to this assignment.
As well you will attach a picture of your FILLED IN ANCHOR CHART FOR PARAGRAPHS 8-15 AND 16-21. You may fill it in by hand and turn in a picture or you may fill in the Anchor Chart online. It is attached to the assignment.

Write a letter to the Governor Deukmejian as though you were a Farm worker in the 1980’s. What would you tell him and why? Keep in mind that Cesar Chavez tells us in his Commonwealth Club Address very important information on what Deukmejian did during his time as Governor.
A letter includes a Salutation, Date and Closing Statement/Signature.
